A large team of Labour Activist canvassed parts of Stalybridge on Saturday 11th October with James Purnell MP, canvass returns revealed a huge ground swell of support for Labour with many residents telling us how they had been impressed with Gordon Browns handling of the the financial problems the world is suffering.
They also told us how nice it was to see a political party like Labour out on the doorstep again meeting people especially when there was no election looming.
There was no support for the bnp or UKIP and very little for the Lib Dems but we did meet one Scottish Nationalist.
